My name is Christo vd Merwe fom Durbanville. I just recently bought a GSA1200 after having sold my GS800 some 2.5 years ago and just had to get back into the adventure biking thing again.

It will be awesome to meet up with like-minded people again.

I'm Morné, a keen rider for many years, but the ex-wife wasn't as keen as me, lol. Previous rides include lots of "Japcrap thumpers", with my Honda Varadero being the only dual bike I have owned. This is my first BMW dual, and I'm in love with my GSA!!! Was really worth the wait. Liza is a great pillion and jumps at every and any excuse to get on the back of my bike. We love touring and camping. Making trips to the Eastern Cape every 3rd month at least, because that's were my folks still live. I'm not scared to get the "boys" wet, and I'm definitely not a fair weather biker. Looking forward to pick up new skills on this awesome bike.

I am 53, my two kids are slowly becoming independent and my wife and I have decided to take up adventure riding. I used to own road bikes through the years but this is my first BMW and my first adventure bike. We are still very new to this lifestyle, but are enjoying it so far.

Good day People. My name is Francois du Toit. I am an Optometrist practicing at EyeQ Cavendish Square. I am married with two boys and a wife that is also a motor cycle rider (2003 F650GS). I have been biking since school days, 1980. I stopped riding in 1997 after a crash, fortunately with no serious injuries. I took the sport up again 5 years ago, starting with a F800GS and then upgraded to R1200GS Adventure. I prefer to stay out of the way of motor cars, hence the decision to go with duel-purpose bikes. I have been a guest on Geoff Russell’s runs before and on his recommendation I'm looking to become a member of the BMWMCC.
